Marijke Hendrix (RN MSc PhD) - Academie Verloskunde Maastricht – Zuyd University
After my graduation as a nurse at ZUYD University in 2000, I studied Health Sciences (Health Care Policy Innovation and Management) at the Maastricht University. In 2002 I received my master degree.
In 2005 I started my PhD research project at the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Maastricht University Medical Centre. The main aim of my research project was to investigate differences between planned home births and planned hospital births (midwife-led) for low-risk nulliparous women.
In 2010 I defended my thesis, entitled “Home or home-like hospital birth for nulliparous women: does it matter?” at the Maastricht University.
Since March 2010 I am working as a researcher and lecturer at Academie Verloskunde Maastricht – Zuyd University. I am a member of the Research Centre for Midwifery Science and I am involved in research projects regarding place of birth and (interprofessional) education. As a lecturer I am involved in de Bachelor and Master programme in Midwifery.
In the European Master of Science in Midwifery I am module leader of the module Implementing Innovations in Midwifery Practice. I am very pleased to welcome you in this Master programme and I am looking forward to working with you.
